Originally found by our South American Buyer on a 4-hour trek from Santiago to Maule. This is the largest and oldest wine region in Chile's Central Valley, and the birthplace of the modern Cabernet boom in South America. Classic Cabernet Sauvignon with an eye towards Bordeaux. There's plenty of fruit, but also tobacco, herbaceous notes, and a finish that speaks to the complexity of the grape, rather than just ripeness and new oak. Amazing value for under $10!
"Ruby red, this high elevation Cabernet has an alluring nose and subtle spice notes, combined with vanilla and mocha, harmonizing beautifully. The palate is smooth, concentrated and long, with a lingering finish and ripe tannins." The Wine Buyer, 91 Points
