Punti Ferrer first began when a husband and wife team decided to leave the city behind and chase their winemaking dreams into the Chilean countryside. Antonio Puntí Ferrer always dreamt of dedicating his life to the production of fine wines, just as his father did when he arrived to Chile from Manresa, Spain. They settled in the Rapel Valley, benefitting from the protected middle depression that generates between the Andes mountain range and the Coastal mountain range. The climate is Mediterranean, the soils are alluvial (like Napa), and the altitude is at a whopping 2,100 feet. It's here that winemaker Grethel Swaneck crafts wine of intense color and aromatic concentration, with bright acidity, and restrained tannins.
"This is serious and focused with currants, light mushrooms and forest-floor undertones. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a delicious, savory finish. Excellent for the money." The Wine Buyer, 91 Points
