If you're a fan of big, juicy California Cabernet Sauvignon, you are really going to love the latest Block 1043 Reserve from Lake County's Red Hills AVA. Located in the northern Mayacamas Mountains and comprised of dozens of volcanic hills ranging from 1,350 to over 3,700 feet above sea level, the appellation lies right over the North Coast Magna Pocket. As a result, the Red Hills are the latest formation of the volcanic and tectonic processes that created many of the famous hillside regions of the North Coast. It's become a hot spot to make full-bodied reds like Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Malbec and of course, world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Bold, deeply concentrated, elegant and age-worthy describe this limited release of 2,000 cases.
"The Block 1043 Red Hills Cab offers lush blackberry and dried cranberry characters on the nose and palate with hints of black pepper and allspice. The lengthy finish shows notes of cedar complimenting the ripe fruit and some toasted oak on the elongated finish." The Wine Buyer, 93 Points
